Dining - Sample Wedding Menu

The information below is given as suggested menu selections for the various courses.  We shy away from the “wedding package” approach as every reception is unique and tailored to your wishes.  If you have any specific request for favourite dishes we would do our best to include these.

Canapés and Champagne Reception

Suitable for the two hour duration of the civil ceremony, photos and a selection of home made canapés and champagne   Cost: £20 - £25 pp

Wedding Reception - Luncheon or Dinner Selections

STARTERS:

* Spinach roulade with cauliflower cheese filling and tomato and basil sauce (hot)

Fish stack (fresh Salmon, smoked salmon and prawns with a seafood mayo dressing (cold)

Mini fish pies with cod, salmon, spinach a dill white wine sauce and topped with a cheesy leek potato mash (served hot)

Coarse farmhouse pate’ served with salad garnish / toast

Baked cheesecake (three cheeses) with parmesan crust and apple / tomato chutney salad garnish (cold) *

Creamy risotto with parmesan, mushrooms, finished with wine, cream & fresh parsley * can be served for vegetarian diners without the Parma ham garnish

* Assorted melon medley with lemon sorbet, fruit coulis and berry fruits

Or any of the soups shown below:

SOUP COURSE (if required for fourth course):

Carrot & butternut squash (mildly spicy – very fragrant)

SOUP (Broccoli, spinach, leeks, potato, pear and stilton cheese)

Mushroom soup with a splash of sherry, fresh parsley & cream

Home made tomato & red pepper with Italian beans (rich thick soup finished with cream)

OR FISH COURSE (if required for fourth course):

Either of the fish selections (2 or 3)  in the starters above Salmon fillet with prawns served with a white wine and fresh herb sauce Fish terrine with hollandaise & salad garnish

SORBETS

A variety of flavours to choose from (as a separate course choice)

MAIN COURSE: 

Fillet of pork wrapped in fig & date stuffing, bound in bacon then roasted  and carved (served with a rich port gravy)

Traditional turkey roast dinner with all the trimmings!

Roast leg of Lamb seasoned with garlic & rosemary cooked slowly and served with and a wine gravy (accompanied by our home made mint, redcurrant and red wine vinegar dressing.

Chicken fillets with onions, celery and apples in cider finished with cream & fresh parsley

Beef in beer casserole (succulent meat and seasonal vegetables, slow cooked in Jenning’s ale, with a rich gravy)

Fillet of Salmon with dill and white wine cream sauce

* Vegetarian dish – herb cheese fritter served on onion bagel with tomato & red pepper sauce (can be chosen for individual guests)

Served with a varied selection of vegetables and roast potatoes

* Suitable for vegetarian choices

PUDDINGS

Trio of three mini puddings on one platter (for example : lemon cheesecake, double chocolate terrine and sticky toffee pudding with Bailey’s butterscotch sauce) other choices available on request  (unlikely to need the fifth cheese course with this choice)

Bread & Butter pudding with whisky fruit (warm)

Blueberry and frangipane (almond) tart

Chocolate roulade filled with sweet chestnut puree, whipped cream and red berries

Classic Lemon Tart

Boozy trifle – an old favourite with a modern twist!

Fresh fruit salad (exotic and traditional fresh fruits in a delicious chilled compote)

Selection of English cheese & biscuits may be offered as a fifth course Tea & coffee £1.50 pp charged as taken
